Stream with Zoom
Send a Zoom meeting or webinar to your aranova.cloud channel using Zoom's custom live streaming service.
Zoom can push a meeting or webinar over RTMP to your aranova.cloud channel. Nothing to install: it is configured in Zoom's web portal and started from the meeting itself.
Custom live streaming is only available on paid accounts and must be allowed by the account administrator. If you cannot see the options below, ask them to enable live streaming and the custom service.
1. Enable live streaming on your account
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Under Settings, use the search box and type
live. This brings up the meeting and webinar settings at once. - Turn on Allow live streaming meetings and, if you stream webinars, Allow live streaming webinars.
- Turn on Custom Live Streaming Service for both. Without it, Zoom will not let you enter your own URL and key.
- Click Save and restart Zoom. The change does not apply until you restart the app.
2. Copy the event credentials
- In the aranova.cloud dashboard, open Events and go into the event you want to stream to.
- Copy the stream URL and the stream key from the Connect your encoder panel.
- Also keep the public page URL of the event at hand: that is the address you will give Zoom as the live streaming page.
3. Configure the custom service in Zoom
-
In the web portal, open Meetings or Webinars and open the meeting or webinar you want to stream (or schedule it now).
-
Open the Live streaming tab and click configure custom streaming service.
-
Fill in the three fields:
Zoom field What to paste Stream URL The event stream URL Stream Key The event stream key Live streaming page URL The public page of the event -
Save the changes. The settings are tied to that meeting or webinar: repeat this step for each one.
4. Go live from the meeting
- Start the meeting or webinar as the host. You can also configure it with the meeting already running.
- Click More in the control bar.
- Choose Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.
- Zoom starts sending the signal to aranova.cloud: the event turns Live and the player shows the meeting.
To stop, go back to More → Stop Live Stream.
If you need branding or titles
Zoom streams what the meeting looks like: it cannot add titles, lower thirds or camera compositing. If you need those, send Zoom into vMix or OBS and stream from there to your channel:
- In Zoom, point the custom service at the input credentials of vMix or OBS Studio.
- In vMix or OBS, build the scene from the Zoom source and add titles or overlays.
- Stream from vMix or OBS to the event credentials in aranova.cloud.
If something goes wrong
- The custom service option is missing — it is not enabled on the account (step 1), or your plan does not include live streaming.
- "Live" is greyed out in the meeting — the setting changed after the meeting was created; reconfigure live streaming for that meeting.
- Zoom will not connect after saving — restart Zoom: some portal changes only take effect after a restart.
- The event is not visible on the public page — check that you pasted the URL and key on the Live streaming tab of that meeting and that event streaming is enabled.
